I came across Debbie and John's work  and just fell in love with the beautiful leather items they create! And  to think they live in such a beautiful and inspirational place, surrounded by the beautiful Red Rock in Arizona. I must say.. the Dragonfly bag is one of my favorites!! But both are so beautiful!

Hi! My name is Debbie Rodgers, together with my husband John we are Thunder Rose Leather. We have been married for 32 years, have a daughter, four grandchildren and a cute dog (Rosie).

I started beading about 25 years ago. When I first saw seed beads I feel in love with them and had a desire to learn as much as possible. I am pretty much self taught with a few pointers from friends along the way. In the beginning I started creating earrings and barrettes. Then John and I starting working with buckskin leather. The beads really compliment the leather so I started creating rosettes, appliques and doing linear bead work on the leather.

John designs all of our handbags. People come to him with requests of all kinds. Between the two of us we create all kinds of styles of bags, bead work and many different other things.

It inspires me when I hear how happy my customers are.
