~The Child Within Us~

~The Child Within Us~

How may times did our parents and teachers say "color inside the lines"...." dont get your clothes dirty"..." that will never come out in the wash" and on and on... How are we to grow into fun loving artists when we are stifled in such a way??? Luckily some of us didnt listen.. and I was one of them!!! I even go as far as to garden in the dirt with just my hands!!! No gloves here.. I want to feel the dirt and connect with what is real~ It is the same way with my artwork... My best work is done "coloring outside the lines" and thinking" outside the box"!! What is creativity if we are given limitations?? I love to grab paint colors and just push it around with my fingers creating a beautiful" melting pot" of colors and even textures when I pat it here and there!

Hands were made to create beautiful things, show love by the things we do and also provide comfort by holding hands ,praying or wiping a tear...Hands are amazing, they are part of the connection process.. connecting thoughts and feelings from mind to heart to hands so we can share what we have to say in our hearts with our hands.

Sometimes our hands feel like we cant connect and that is where nature can be a catalyst. To just sit quietly and take in the" awesomeness" of the world around you ,can help to bridge that creativity gap.

How can you not be inspired with such beautiful textures and colors! They surround us everyday.. everywhere! Many are common sights and we need to just learn to view them in a different light! So it is important to surround yourself with inspiration and your hands will move freely to capture what is stored in your heart!

Antique Spoons and Forks can even be inspiring!!

See your world through the eyes of a child and create with the hands of a child as well!

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

"Hands in place... where the paint???"

"Create with the enthusiasm of a child"

Sparkly beauty is just as pretty today as it was when I was 5 years old!!

Doodle as a child would!

~May you always see and feel things as a child and keep your creativity alive~

  1. Loved this post. I have been thinking about the limitations I put on myself instead of enjoying the creative process. The key is learning to let go. Thank you for the wonderful thoughts.
