"Go Ahead And Embellish"
One of the things I love to do is re-do fun finds! Whether it is re-purposing an old item or adding embellishments to a new one... it is fun to give creative "new life" to a great find!
My mom and I were shopping at Joanne's one day
( as most of us do..lol)
and saw the infamous 70% off sale sign off spring items! That is all we needed to see and we're off to find some fun new items! I saw this interesting whimsical wooden house standing about 3 feet tall and "felt sorry for it".....it was sadly plain, only with the paint colors and the wooden words "Welcome".
I then took it home and gave it some "artsy love" adding rub-on quotes , trim and whimsical flowers.
I then went a little "vintage" with rubbing on "Sepia" Archival Ink from the pad touching on spots that stick up.. giving it an old appearance. I sealed it with a polyurethane spray as it would be sitting outside on the deck. So for those of you that don't have allot of time... you can always put your personal touch on great finds like this.. after all for $5.00 and a half hour of time it was a very fun, creative and fulfilling project!
I hope you have fun with your wonderful finds and enjoy whatever amount of time you have to devote, even a small amount of creative time is uplifting!!
