WildHeart Art~Life Is Precious~ Creative Journal Page Featuring Stencil Girl Products-" Words To Live By" Stencil

"Life Is Precious"
Featuring Stencil Girl's " Words To Live By Stencil

In all of my artwork and jewelry design I feel it is important to offer positive messages. It is a way to spread my creative joy and hopefully be able to put a smile on someone's face or help encourage them in a positive direction. This journal page project fuses color, texture and a lovely inspirational message that "Life Is Precious". Enjoy!

Supplies
Journal Page
Gesso
 Dylusions Spray Inks
Stencil with texture/design for the inside of the heart
Black and Plum Ink Pad
 Glass Bead Gel Medium
Purple/pink and gold  markers for creating depth and highlighting the heart
Stamp with inspirational words

  • Begin by preparing your journal page with a  coat of gesso and let dry. Gather your spray inks and spritz the page randomly ( we will be building color up so use one color at a time) I used a heat gun to blow around the color and create a fun chaos of colors and also dripped some downwards.

  •  Lay the stencil on the page and use the ink from the pad on your finger to gently buff in (circular motion) the ink over the stencil randomly. This creates the effect of dark and light values on the finished page.I  also left a small area empty to add the heart, but you also can leave it as is and use it for a spot to journal on. Once you are happy with that background you can move on to the next step.

  • At this point I draw in the heart shape and highlight with makers.

    • I the laid down a texture stencil inside the heart and applied the bead gel medium with an artists knife covering the stencil with a thin layer and let dry ( this make take several hours.. I let it dry overnight) It will dry clear but the colors from underneath the  bead gel will bleed up giving it a very cool look!

        •  Use your inspirational  inked word stamp and apply near the heart.

        • The last thing you  do is to frame the page by smudging the plum ink around the edges.

You now have created a beautiful and colorful journal page with vibrancy and inspiration! Have a beautiful creative day and ENJOY!
