It took me a while before I took the jump into Art Journaling; but--- what I found? I experienced such an OVERWHELMING sensation of "All these years!" It was both a feeling of great sadness, and a haunted happiness, that it took me all these years [after being distracted for decades], to get back to who I TRULY am.
ReplyDeleteDiscovering mixed media has allowed me to grow as an artist and let go of self-criticism. I have more confidence and joy in expressing myself through art.
ReplyDeleteArt is important in every aspect of my daily life. Making and surrounding myself with creative items lifts my and others' heart.
ReplyDeleteFor me that is like asking why is breathing important to you? Because it keeps me alive, grounds me, keeps me sane, gives me life. Yep, I'd say, that's Art for me.
ReplyDeleteMy mother always said 'art feeds the soul' and I've come to see the truth of that. We can feed our bodies, but creating and appreciating art nourishes us in a deeper way, and is what separates us from the beasts of the field.
ReplyDeleteArt for me is a way of expressing what I otherwise could'nt. It is essential to my life and happiness.
ReplyDeleteArt is everywhere! It brings me peace and keeps me sane!
ReplyDeleteArt is, as we open our eyes in the morning, an entegril part of our being. It is in everything we see, everyone we meet. Creating art, an extension of our very core, our soul speaks and is not only seen, but heard by the right ears and eyes.
ReplyDeleteArt is an integral part of my life and that of my children. Every day we find ways to create and celebrate using our hearts and hands, and life is richer because of it!
ReplyDeleteArt is sooooo good for the soul and the journey of creating is fun along the way. It doesn't matter where we end up as long as we enjoyed the process of creating. I love creating :) Andrea B.
ReplyDeleteArt is so important to me because "I create so no one I love gets hurt." Stress, anger and frustration just melt away with I settle in with my art supplies. It's good for the soul and good for those around me!

ReplyDeleteart keeps me centered in my heart and soul, instead of in my body. it keeps me off the couch. my hubby always knows by the twinkle in my eye if i have been playing with color that day.
ReplyDeletei have found art can pull me through the bad times and help me bloom in the good times
ReplyDeleteI need to make art. Like breathing air.
ReplyDeleteSanity. Destress. Decompress. Connect with my kids who I strive to inspire. Reminds me of what is truly important in life.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this opportunity! It is important for me in so many ways. I think I love intuitive expression best. Also, I am finding that my kids and I are making art more often together, rather than separately! Love it!
ReplyDeleteArt has helped me cope and deal with life. I have an anxiety disorder and art helps me to focus on something other then my thoughts
ReplyDeleteArt saved my life after a horrific car accident 3 years ago. Journaling and painting helped me through the despair and now I am going to obtain a certificate to facilitate art therapy. Art is healing.
ReplyDeleteArt saved my life after a horrific car accident 3 years ago. Journaling and painting helped me through the despair and now I am going to obtain a certificate to facilitate art therapy. Art is healing.
ReplyDeleteArt is just a part of who I am. If I don't have the time or take the time to do something creative daily I actually feel a loss. Even though at times it is frustrating when it keeps me awake. I feel incredibly blessed to love creating. Thank you for this opportunity
ReplyDeleteCreating art is " that which makes my heart beat faster". It is a slow death to go too long without creating it. I put it off most of my life to raise kids and then grandkids, pay mortgages and bells etc. my time now. Heather Domke
ReplyDeleteKeeps me on my toes. Relaxes me and able to share my creativity with others.
ReplyDeleteArt Important? It's only my sanity - LOL
ReplyDeleteWhen I am creating I'm in the zone and all of my daily worries flit away and I am free.
Having raised seven children to adulthood, I found myself asking, "what's next?" Remembering doodling and drawing in my childhood, I began doing that again. You're never too old to start and I'm enjoying this next journey of my life.
ReplyDeleteUsing my creativity daily is important to me, whether working in my art journal or organizing my pantry! Try new foods. Watch you tube for inspiration. Have fun Daily!
ReplyDeleteUsing my creativity daily is important to me, whether working in my art journal or organizing my pantry! Try new foods. Watch you tube for inspiration. Have fun Daily!
ReplyDeleteArt is important in my everyday life because it gives me a reason to just pause and enjoy, reflect and breathe. Whether I am looking at beautiful art or trying to create it, it brings me good energy that helps benefit other areas of my life.
ReplyDeleteI have always felt this need to be engaged in creative endeavors, but after divorcing, art really saved my life by giving me a positive and challenging place to channel my energy.

ReplyDeleteArt helps me be more in touch with real life. When I work on a page I am finally able to express what I'm really feeling and also process those feelings. It's a lifesaver.
ReplyDeleteI love art, love creating full stop. It is definitely more than just colour and share on paper, it is expression of the soul.
ReplyDeleteI need to make more time for my art passion.
Art journaling keeps me sane. It is instinctive and taps into things that I don't even know I am thinking about.
ReplyDeleteArt is my escape. It is my stress reliever. I enjoy the.process of creating.
ReplyDeleteArt and art journaling are healing therapies for me. I can lose myself so easily when creating
ReplyDeleteArt helps me feel better, and express myself.
ReplyDeleteThe creative process is a soul communication. Connection with the Divine, flowing through us creates art if we let it rather than just from the mind. That connection is as important to me as breathing.
ReplyDeleteTo me Art is JOY. It is an expression of who I am, have been and will be. It is a window to the heART of fellow artists. Congratulations on your invitation and thank you for this opportunity.

ReplyDeleteFor me creating art centers me. It is my form of meditation and a window to my soul.
ReplyDeleteArt journaling is a way for me to express myself with color and words with no constraints, rules, etc -- just the freedom to explore and experiment. It is a therapeutic moment that allows me a calmness and self-satisfaction as I create that I cannot find in any other endeavor.
ReplyDeleteArt feeds my soul and is as much a part of my life as breathing or sleeping. Eating even takes second place. Learning new ways to create ensures I'll continue to grow and thrive! It makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteArt helps me breathe, it eases the often heavy load inside me and raises my spirits! Thanks so much for the opportunity to win a years subscription! xx

ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!! Everyday art is important because it allows you to find a place of calm and release the cares of the day.
ReplyDeleteMy parents were artists in the publishing field when I was growing up. I imagine them painting rainbows, sunrises, and sunsets as they share their wondrous art from heaven. Working in my own studio brings me joy and peace as I follow in their footsteps and look out my window to enjoy the wondrous beauty they share with their loved ones on Earth.
ReplyDeleteCreating art/art journaling is important because it is therapy for me. I work with dying elderly patients and their families. It is a stressful job which I am good at. I need aTherapeutic release, art fills this void.
ReplyDeleteI "journal" in altered books. It helps me to learn things to do with the youth and ladies I teach in Ukraine. I love sharing the joy of creativity with them. And it just makes me happy. Thanks for offering this Sherri. i'm one of your fans. :)

ReplyDeleteMaking art and being creative is who I am and what I do. I couldn't go on for very long without using my creativity... I'd be stifled and sad. Thank goodness I have a job that utilizes my talents in design and that I am a creativity and expressive arts coach. These genes were passed down to me and on to my children so I am very grateful and blessed to be a Maker of Art. Congratulations, Sherri! You share yours with us every day! Well deserved honor. ~Hobby
ReplyDeleteArt is my therapy. My 3 year old daughter passed 4 years ago and soon after I discovered a creative side I never knew I had. It's evolved from scrapbooking to preserve memories to mixed media. I love art journalling, altered art and assemblage. I'm currently learning encaustic, pewter work and soldering. Thanks for the opportunity to win! Jen x
ReplyDeleteArt saved my life. I was in a horrible motorcycle accident and couldn't work anymore. My work was of a professional dancer. It was a hard road but I turned to art as my creative outlet and to this day even though I'm in a wheelchair now I turn to my art to get me through the hard times.
ReplyDeletewhy art is important in my everyday life. It keeps my mind active, reduces stress, fills my life with beauty and keeps me sane! I love taking nothing and creating something beautiful. ... if only in my eyes. I love being an artist and having an artist eye so I can see beauty everywhere. I love to work for hours and only feel a few minutes pass by and be refreshed. I'm blessed to be creative and artistic with a thirst for knowledge so I can continue to grow in my skills and give back and share with others. My grandad was a self taught artist and crafter and I seemed to have picked this up :) I love it, I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and it is the most effective and relaxing thing that seems to help at the moment :) and I love how my children feed off my art and become more creative every day :) I also just love to share with the world ;)

ReplyDeleteThat question actually took be aback, I'm not sure how to answer it. Art is a part of my everyday life, and has been since early childhood,
ReplyDeleteso . . . I dunno exactly how to answer "why."
It just IS!
It's a thinker . . .
This magazine looks fabulous, congratulations to you, and thank you for the opportunity!
I am a caregiver, as well as a mom if 4 (3 still at home) and grandmother of 2. Art is my recharge, so much so that my husband encourages me to pursue it. He sees how it benefits my soul. No matter what my mood, I can spend time in my art room expressing myself through my art.

Art is important in everyday life because it elevates your mood. When you feel good, you make better decisions about your life. This creates a ripple effect that is felt by your loved ones.
ReplyDeleteArt keeps me sane in this busy life, when I can afford a few moments to create, I feel my blood pressure go down....magic!
ReplyDeleteBecause art transports me to another dimension , which drives me everyday and I carries a magical world in which I am quite happy.. for me ART IS A MAGICAL WORLD
ReplyDeleteBecause art transports me to another dimension , which drives me everyday and I carries a magical world in which I am quite happy.. for me ART IS A MAGICAL WORLD
ReplyDeleteI received a sample copy and thought it was fabulous !
ReplyDeleteIt makes me smile and feel. My eyes would be big if I saw some beautiful piece of art. I forget everything else
ReplyDeleteEvery morning I go first to my emails and delete the trash, then onto FB. I fill my head and heart with the many beautiful canvases I find left there by the various artists I follow. Before I know it, it is 9am and I have to do my exercise routine before showering and having the dressings changed on my legs. I cannot do without my daily fix of colour. This is what sets me up for the day, and it is the thought of pencils, paints and paper that encourages me to work through my daily chores in order to be free after lunch to use them. A world without colour to me is unimaginable.xx
ReplyDeleteFor me art is a release, a joy, a way to express. I find it very meditative. When I paint I lose myself in that moment. I don't worry about bills, or work or family challenges .. I just get lost in creating. This past year I have had great joy in painting rocks to look like ladybugs. My friends and I sell them and the proceeds go to our local cancer center in honor of her son which was taken by cancer. We also hand out the small ones to random people and it is amazing the joy that these little bugs give people. We see the joy and feel the joy in giving them. To date I have made hundreds of "cancer bugs" we call them cancer bugs - cause cancer bugs us. I am 49 mother of two, work full time and have learned to make time for art as it really does re-energizes me. Thank you for your art and the potential to win this gift.
