Come and join us for this amazing art retreat combing unique art workshops , beautiful views and the world renowned wines of the Glenora! The ArtWine Retreat will be held at the beautiful Glenora Winery & Inn on Seneca Lake complete with vineyard views from every room!
We will enjoy 2 full days and 3 nights of creative artsy fun, friendship and laughter learning new art techniques and great new ways to open up your art heart! Included in your retreat cost will be wonderful art workshops by artists Sherri Welser owner of IndigoEarth & WildHeart Art Studio, Shannon Crandall and Marjie Kemper ,we have all teamed up to offer you an amazing art adventure! And considering we are in beautiful wine county, wine tasting and a winery tour is also included! For those of you who aren't familiar with the Fingerlakes... we have an amazing foodie artisan community and included in your Welcome tote bags will be a sampling of those delicious artisan foods as well as some wonderful art goodies donated by our generous co sponsors! Giveaways and all kinds of fun and excitement will be had by everyone!
The retreat will also include continental breakfasts and lunches for both days.

Meet the Workshop Instructors~
Sherri Welser is the owner of IndigoEarth & Wild Heart Art Studio in Upstate NY and enjoys creating unique mixed media artwork and artisan jewelry. She is a nationally published jewelry designer,artist and has been a Design Team
Member for several on line creative art companies.She offers a multitude of on
line workshops and travels the east coast offering hands on workshops.
Sherri also hosts an annual fall art retreat called ~ArtBeach~ which is a 3 day event held right on Folly
Beach in S.C. She also is a NYS licensed skin care therapist , nationally certified aromatherapist and herbalist. She lives her life combining her love of nature,creativity and positive energy in hopes of inspiring others to take those" leaps of faith" and find their true inner creative voice. Throughout her work she includes positive motivational words and quotes in hopes of brightening another's day!

Shannon Crandall is a graduate of the University Of
Maryland. She has a Bachelors Degree in
Art History and is also a New York State Licensed Skin Therapist. She currently runs her own Skin Care Therapy
Business in upstate NY, and sells her art work and jewelry at several local
galleries.
She is a self taught intuitive
artist, who continually experiments with new materials to express her
creativity. Shannon has traveled the
East coast selling her art work at juried shows and enjoys teaching mixed media
art classes a couple of times a year.
Several of Shannon Crandall’s lithograph prints were sold in
the American Folk Art Museum in NYC and some of Shannon Crandall’s
framed prints were sold through the “Sturbridge Yankee Catalog”, and “The
Country House Catalog”. She lives with
her husband and their teenage daughter in an 1890’s brick home that they are
currently renovating.

Marjie is a
New York mixed media artist, craft blogger, and workshop instructor.
She’s been published in Somerset Studio, Handcrafted, Cloth Paper
Scissors – Gifts, The Stamper’s Sampler, Altered Couture, and more.
She is a Certified Ranger
Educator who particularly enjoys art journaling with stamps, paints, inks, and
stencils. Marjie loves building up layers of color and texture in her projects
and loves teaching in stores and at retreats.

Creating Beautiful Handmade Botanical Papers for Mixed Media Artwork

I love creating
these beautiful handmade papers using Arnold Grummer's handmade paper press and supplies!
It is so exciting to create such special papers to use for writing, mixed media,cards etc combining dried botanicals, specialty pulps, glitter,mica,scents for scented papers, etc! We also will explore embossing these beautiful papers for creating interesting and unique papers for mixed media!

There are so many ways to add texture to your pages. In this class you’ll choose
between dry embossing with one of the leading die-cut machines and adding
texture with wet mediums through stencils. You may do both. The toughest
decision will be choosing which patterns and designs to add…. it’s sort of like
potato chips and once you get started, you’ll want them all!

We will have fun creating and uniquely embellishing these lovely Vintage houses! Grabbing a colorful and unique stash of papers,ephemera, trinkets, markers, rub ons, acrylics etc ,we will have a blast with this truly creative process!

Dig into Marjie’s stash of stamps and stencils to find the images and designs that speak to . you. Work in your art journal using whatever shapes and sentiments strike you

Lodging is at the Beautiful Glenora Winery and Inn which is all at the same complex
and reservations can be made by contacting Glenora at http://www.glenora.com/ .I have reserved a block of 15 rooms for attendees and they run from Wednesday night to Saturday morning for those who would like to stay an extra night before traveling home. Rates for the retreat are $159.00( roughly 80.00 per night) double occupancy ( 2 queen beds in each room with a beautiful view of the vineyard and lake!) for Wednesday and Thursday- Friday is $209.00 double occupancy. You will have to reserve your room though Glenora with a credit card to hold it for you. There are many wineries located within a days drive so spending an extra day or so is always a nice opportunity to see the beautiful wine country and sample all the wonderful world renowned wines! The winery is located on Seneca Lake and those flying in can use either the Rochester or Syracuse airport. The drive from either airport will about an hour or so and it would be best to rent a car and then spend a bit more time enjoying the fingerlakes after the retreat!
